Minneapolis, Minn. – The Western Michigan men's tennis team gave B1G Minnesota a battle Saturday afternoon, but the Broncos ultimately fell 4-3 on the road. The loss hands WMU its second loss of the season for a 2-2 overall record this spring.

After Minnesota won the first doubles match of the day, Western Michigan rallied back to win the No. 2 and No. 3 spot to claim the point. Â

Minnesota claimed the first singles match at the No. 1 spot as No. 42
nd ranked Matic Spec defeated Nouchi to even the score at 1-1. As points went back-and-forth the Broncos picked up wins from
Eric Olivarez at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-0 win and Svjetlicic at No. 5 in a three-set nail-biter. The Gophers clinched the match with the final singles match at No. 3.
Head coach
Dave Morin entered this match tied with Jack Vredevelt for the most wins in school history (348), so the Broncos are looking to get Morin the record tomorrow on the road against Green Bay in Minneapolis, Minn. at 11 a.m.
