KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan baseball program held its annual golf outing Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Prairies Golf Club.

The team of Guy Morgan, Don Menze, Eric Heckaman and John Heckaman took first place in the four-person scramble and the group of Tyler Grinnell, Steve Grinnell, Bill Oliver and Bill Huyser finished second. John Heckaman also hit the longest drive, while Marty Ray was closest the pin. Over 70 people participated in this year's outing.

“We had a remarkable turnout as well as great weather and I would to thank our alumni for coming out and participating in this year’s outing,” said WMU head coach Billy Gernon.

“I would also like to thank Cole Automotive and Walmart along with our many other sponsors for helping make this year’s outing a great event. A special thanks to golf pro Dan Cameron and the Prairies for their hospitality and for having the course in such outstanding shape.

“The 2014 outing will be the morning of CommUniverCity as it has been the last two years.”
