KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Incoming Kellogg Community College transfer Chad Mayle has added NJCAA First-Team Baseball All-American to his long list of accolades. A right-handed pitcher, Mayle will have two years of eligibility when he joins the Bronco program this fall.

Mayle was part of back-to-back MCCAA Championship and NJCAA Division II Region XII Tournament qualifying teams the last two years at Kellogg. This past month, he was also named Michigan Community College Athletic Association Player, First Team All-MCCAA, as well as to the MCCAA All-Region XII and Region XII All-Tournament Teams.

Mayle had an 8-1 record in 2013 and 0.94 ERA over 10 starts. He threw five complete games, including two shutouts, and allowed just six earned runs and 39 hits over 57.2 innings pitched. He tallied 56 strikeouts, averaging 8.74 per game, and issued just 21 walks. Mayle did not surrender a home run and gave up just two extra base hits.

Mayle completed 57 credit hours over three semesters at KCC, earning a 3.9 GPA while pursing an Associate of Science degree and will continuing his studies as a biomedical sciences major at WMU. He was named KCC’s Outstanding Male Scholar Athlete 2013 during the college’s annual Awards Banquet last month and earned First Team Academic honors.
