KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Eight current and future members of the Western Michigan hockey team are participating in National Hockey League development camps this summer.

Junior captain Nolan LaPorte is visiting his hometown Chicago Blackhawks, Kenney Morrison is attending the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings' camp, Chris Dienes is with the Calgary Flames and Taylor Fleming is with the Winnipeg Jets. WMU's four NHL draft picks are with their respected teams with Colton Hargrove visiting the Boston Bruins, Mike McKee with the Detroit Red Wings, Aidan Muir with the Edmonton Oilers and future Bronco Matt Iacopelli with the Blackhawks.

The student-athletes will participate in development drills focusing on skills and skating, along with scrimmages. Many teams also have team-building activities for the participants. Hargrove, who is in his third camp with Boston, practiced "The Art of Belaying" with some of his fellow prospects at Bruins camp (click link to watch).

Watch Colton Hargrove talk about his third camp with the Bruins.

Aidan Muir talks about camp with the Edmonton Oilers and why he chose Western Michigan.
