WMU Hockey Jumps to No. 6
KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan jumped three spots in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls to No. 6 after sweeping the University of Michigan over the weekend.
Sixth is the highest the Broncos have been ranked since last season when they came in at No. 4 in the USCHO.com poll and No. 6 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. WMU's position in the USA Today poll ties a program high for that poll, while last year's No. 4 ranking by the USCHO.com remains the program's highest from that publication.
WMU takes a three-game winning streak to Ferris State this weekend, where they battle the Bulldogs. FSU recieved the most votes outside of the top 20 in the USCHO.com poll after splitting with Notre Dame. Ferris State is 6-2-0 in their last eight games with the only two losses coming at home against Ohio State and on the road at Notre Dame.
