KALAMAZOO -- After sweeping Northern Michigan the Western Michigan hockey program has jumped in both national polls, coming in at No. 7 in the Poll and No. 8 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.

The Broncos are officially tied for seventh with Boston University in the poll with both schools receiving 644 points from votes. WMU jumped up three spots from last week's position at No. 10, matching their preseason ranking of seventh, the highest they have been all season long. The Brown & Gold have spent every week in top the 15 this season in both polls and this is now the fifth straight week they have appeared in the top 10.

WMU hosts No. 16 Ferris State this Friday and Saturday, with the Bulldogs being the first ranked team to visit Lawson Ice Arena this season.
