KALAMAZOO -- After a brief drop the Western Michigan hockey team reentered the top 10 of the poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll on Monday afternoon.

The Broncos head into a bye week after sweeping Canisius over the weekend. WMU blanked the Golden Griffins on Friday, 3-0, and then a late goal by Trevor Elias helped complete the sweep on Saturday with a 2-1 win.

After the bye week the Broncos head to No. 9 Notre Dame to open Central Collegiate Hockey Association play. The Broncos are on the road in South Bend on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and then on Sunday at 5 p.m.

WMU had dropped to 12th after splitting with St. Lawrence, who are now receiving votes in both polls, to open the season.
