With now just a day remaining before the official start of the Division I collegiate hockey season, we look to our second reason for fans to be excited for the upcoming hockey season.

Today's focus is best and loudest building in college hockey, Lawson Ice Arena.

Thanks to WMU's ravenous student section, the Lawson Lunatics, and the great support from the community, Lawson Ice Arena has turned in to one of the most difficult places to play in Division I hockey. In the past two season WMU has boasted a 25-11-5 record at home. Last season the Broncos recorded six sell-outs and averaged 3,444 per home game, up 518 from the 2010-11 season.

The Broncos have also seen a jump in season ticket sales for this year. Fans can buy tickets online at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets and by calling the WMU Ticket Office at 1-888-4-WMUTIX.
