KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan women's cross country team heads to East Lansing for the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational on Friday afternoon.

The women's 6k race begins at 12 p.m. at the Forest Akers East Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State. Eight Division I programs will compete amongst 32 total different college programs from various divisions and levels. WMU will compete against Mid-American Conference foes Central Michigan and Miami along with Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern, Ohio State and Oakland.

WMU is looking to rebound after finishing third at the annual George Dales Invitational last Friday. The Broncos take a week off after the Spartan Invitational before heading to Chicago for the Lake Front Invitational hosted by Loyola on Sept. 29.
