THE TIP-OFF
Western Michigan is coming off back-to-back wins, defeating defending eight-time MAC regular season champ Bowling Green at home Sunday, 55-54, and Kent State on the road last Thursday, 58-40 ... the Broncos are 4-6 in the MAC and have won four of their last seven ... Ohio (0-10 MAC) has yet to claim a conference victory this season and is the only team without a league win ... the Bobcats' last win was Jan. 5 at Xavier ... this is WMU's last game against the MAC East, finishing out the last five games of the regular season with a second-go around with MAC West opponents.

SERIES NOTEBOOK
This is the 51st meeting between Western Michigan and Ohio, with the Bobcats holding a slight edge in the series, 24-26 ... Ohio has won the last two in a row, taking last year's meeting in Kalamazoo, x-x, and the 2011 matchup in Athens, 60-54 ... WMU's last win in the series was Feb. 3, 2010, in Kalamazoo, 51-47.

SCOUTING WESTERN MICHIGAN
Western Michigan is led by head coach Shane Clipfell, in his first season ... in conference play, WMU ranks ninth in the MAC in scoring offense, averaging 55.6 ppg and ninth in scoring defense, allowing 62.4 ppg ... the Broncos are shooting 38.0 percent from the floor in league play ... three players are averaging eight points or better and five players are averaging seven points or more ... leaders include freshman Miracle Woods (8.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg), sophomore Marquisha Harris (8.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg) and A.J. Johnson (8.0 ppg) ... Harris is producing 11.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg (team highs) in MAC games.

SCOUTING OHIO
The Bobcats are led by Semeka Randall, in her fifth season ... in conference play, Ohio ranks 11th in scoring offense, averaging 48.7 ppg and last in scoring defense (allowing 70.8 ppg) and field goal percentage (31.8) ... 5-5 freshman guard Kiyanna Black is averaging a team-best 11.5 ppg, while 6-0 junior guard Erin Bailes is averaging 9.7 ppg and has a team-high 39 three-pointers ... 5-8 senior guard Shavon Robinson is contributing 8.8 ppg and three other players are averaging just over 6.0 ppg ... the Bobcats are being out-rebounded by almost nine boards a game.

BRONCOS HAVE FALCONS' NUMBER
Junior Corie Buchanan drove and sank a runner in the lane with 4.6 seconds left to lift WMU a 55-54 victory over Bowling Green this past Sunday ... it was WMU's third win in the last six meetings against BGSU, and the second straight at home, also defeating Bowling Green the last time the two met in Kalamazoo in 2011 ... Toledo is the only MAC team to have more success against BGSU in the recent stretch, winning four of the last six meetings.

BRONCOS POST FIRST WIN AT KENT STATE SINCE 2003
WMU posted its first win at Kent State since 2003, Feb. 7, with a 58-40 victory, snapping a four-game skid against the Flashes ... A.J. Johnson had a game-high 19 points, while Miracle Woods (16p/13r - career highs) and Marquisha Harris (11p/11r) had double-doubles ... it was WMU's largest MAC victory since defeating Miami by 19 (83-64) on Feb. 12, 2011 ... the double-doubles by Woods and Harris were the third career for each ... current WMU assistant coach Kristin Koetsier was on the last Bronco squad to record a victory at Kent State.

MARQUISHA LEAVING HER MARK IN MAC PLAY
Sophomore Marquisha Harris is averaging 11.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg during MAC play - both of which are team highs ... her point production ranks 14th in the league and her rebounding ranks 10th, she is also ranks sixth in field-goal percentage (51.1%) and eighth in blocked shots (9) ... all four of her career double-doubles have come this season in MAC play (vs. Akron, Buffalo, Kent State & Bowling Green).

GAME TIME VS. OHIO MOVED TO 4 P.M.
The start time for the game at Ohio on Feb. 16 has been moved from noon to a 4 p.m. tip-off ... the game will still be televised on SportsTime Ohio and ESPN3... the change was made after the Mid-American Conference announced that ESPNU had picked up the broadcast of the Ohio-Kent State men's basketball game that same day, which is slated to begin at 11 a.m. ESPN3 will also air the WMU-Ohio women's game as part of a double-feature package.

HEY PAT, I KNOW YOU
On the sidelines in her first year as an assistant coach for Ohio is 28-year Division I coaching veteran Pat Charity ... Charity was a standout player at Western Michigan under legendary coach Fran Ebert in teh 1970's and is the only Bronco to ever record 1,000 points & 1,000 rebounds in a career ... Charity went on to begin her coaching career at WMU under Ebert, and later was the head coach at Western Michigan from 1990-97 ... she has both a bachelor's and master's degree from WMU and was inducted into WMU's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993.
