KALAMAZOO -- The annual tradition that marks the beginning of the Western Michigan basketball season, Breakfast with the Broncos, is set for Saturday, Oct. 25 at 8 a.m.

Free breakfast will be available for the first 250 fans through the door. The team will conduct a short workout and then will split up to participate in an intrasquad scrimmage till approximately 10:30 when they will be followed by the women's team first public event.

"This is one of my favorite events of the year," Western Michigan head coach Steve Hawkins said. "It's an outstanding opportunity for our fans to enjoy a great breakfast and get their first look at this season's team. It's also fun for the players to get to play in a game-like environment and hear cheers from the Bronco faithful."

After the scrimmage, the men's basketball team will be available for autographs.

The 2008-09 men's basketball media guide will also make its debut and be available for purchase during the event.

The Broncos return eight letterwinners, including three starters, from last year's 20-12 squad and feature eight freshmen on the 2008-09 roster that will make their first public appearance at Breakfast with the Broncos.
