WMU Football Hosting School Supply Drive During Spring Game

The Western Michigan football program is asking fans coming to Waldo Stadium on April 19 to bring school supplies in lieu of admission cost.

Saturday, April 19, during the "Wooden Oar War" Practice, WMU football be collecting school supplies to benefit public schools (elementary and Middle) in Kalamazoo and Portage as well as the Greater Lakes Burn Camp, an organization close to the hearts of the WMU football coaching wives.

Donations will be collected at the Wal Mart deck located just inside Gate 2 and adjacent to the WMU team tunnel.  Below is a list of suggested items but please feel free to donate whatever items you can spare.

  • Coloring Pencils
  • Art Supplies (Water color paints)
  • Pencil Box Holders
  • Construction paper
  • Copy Paper
  • Note books
  • Composition Notebooks
  • Note Pads
  • Index Cards
  • Folders
  • Backpacks
  • Calculators
  • Binders
  • Rulers
  • Glue sticks
  • Elmer’s Glue
  • Staplers
  • Tape
  • Graph Paper
  • Pencil Sharpeners
  • Pencil Cases
  • Pocket Dictionary
  • Pocket Thesaurus
  • Story Books (Grades K-6 friendly)

All donated items will be delivered to the schools the following week by members of the Western Michigan football team and staff.
