Football Walk-On Tryouts - February 4

Western Michigan football will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2014-15 season for current and incoming WMU students on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in the Seelye Athletic Center, located adjacent to Waldo Stadium.

This tryout will consist of agility drills, along with some football drills. Please note, participating in the tryout does NOT guarantee a spot on the 2014-2015 roster under any circumstances.

There will be a meeting prior to the workout in the “W” Club Room located on the third floor of the Seeyle Athletic Center at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3. Potential prospects must bring ALL of the items listed below to this meeting. In the event that all of the conditions are not met, you will be unable to try out for the 2014-2015 team. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

Along with the following items listed, you must be currently registered as a student at Western Michigan and have no criminal or legal issues pending. Background checks will be performed on those selected to be a part of the WMU Football program.

Current WMU students will need to bring the following documents:

  • A current class schedule showing you are enrolled as a full time student
  • Photo Identification
  • Proof of Insurance
  • A Current Physical, including sickle cell testing from a physician
  • Current G.P.A of 2.5 (Cumulative)
  • Character reference letter from someone other than a family member (i.e. professor, Advisor, High School Coach etc)

Again, please note that in order to participate in the tryout, all of the indicated materials must be with you for the meeting on February 3 at 7:00 a.m. in the Seeyle Athletic Center.

If you do not have all of the materials that apply to you, then you will be unable to participate. In addition if you have undergone a previous try out with the Broncos, no preferential treatment will be rendered and all new documents will need to be presented as no previous documents have been kept on file.
