WMU FOOTBALL NOTES OF INTEREST
• Western Michigan is 1-1 all time against Connecticut
• The Broncos are hosting a team from the Big East for the first time at Waldo Stadium
• WMU is looking for its second-straight win over Connecticut; with a win the Broncos would hold two-game winning streaks over two teams from automatic qualifying BCS conference programs (Iowa)
• This marks the second time under head coach Bill Cubit that WMU is playing a team from the Big East in back-to-back seasons — WMU played Cincinnati in the International Bowl to close out the 2006 season and then opened 2007 at West Virginia
• UConn is one of five programs that Alex Carder has recorded 400 yards passing against in his career
• Dareyon Chance had the most rushing yards in a game (144) since Brandon West had 166 against Eastern Michigan on Nov. 1, 2008
• Chance became only the fifth Bronco to rush for over 100 yards in a game against a Big Ten opponent in program history; his 144 yards are the most ever against a Big Ten team
• Clayton White, UConn’s running backs coach/special teams coordinator, returns to Waldo Stadium for the first time since serving as WMU’s secondary coach in 2006
• Justin Currie and Travonte Boles each registered career high tackles against Minnesota with nine and eight stops, respectively; Currie’s tackle total led the Broncos’ defensive effort
• Antoin Scriven scored his eighth career rushing touchdown, all of which have come from one yard out
• WMU is riding an eight-game home win streak at Waldo Stadium dating back to the 2010 season; WMU’s last loss at home came against Northern Illinois (28-21) on Oct. 30, 2010
• Daniel Braverman registered his first career start in WMU’s loss at Minnesota; he is one of five different Western Michigan wide receivers to start at least one game in 2012
• Minnesota native Jonathan Harden had five tackles and a tackle for loss in his first collegiate game in his home state against the Golden Gophers
