KALAMAZOO, Mich. - True freshman wide receiver Jaime Wilson is one of eight to be added to the 2012 Fred Biletnikoff Award Watch List, presented annually to college football’s outstanding receiver, as announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation on Tuesday morning.

Wilson leads the Mid-American Conference in both receptions per game (9.67) and receiving yards per game (110.0), ranking tied for third and alone in eighth in the nation, respectively.  Wilson has had 100-yard receiving games in two of his first three collegiate games, also hauling in 10 or more catches in each of the last two games.  He has at least one receiving TD in each of his first three collegiate games, scoring two against Eastern Illinois.

Wilson’s break out game thus far in 2012 was against the Panthers, hauling in 11 catches for 154 yards and two scores.  His second TD grab was a one-hander, which landed him as the No. 3 play on that night’s SportsCenter Top 10 Plays.  He also had 104 punt return yards for 258 all-purpose yards.

Foundation selection chairman Ritchie Pickron stated, “Eight players have distinguished themselves as receivers several games into the young college football season and merit inclusion on the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award.” Those players are:

Alex Amidon - Boston College
Anthony Amos - Middle Tennessee State University
Austin Franklin  - New Mexico State University
Austin Hill - University of Arizona
Donte Moncrief - University of Mississippi
Allen Robinson - Penn State  University
Marcus Sales - Syracuse University
Jaime Wilson - Western Michigan University

The Foundation expects to increase the number of players on the watch list during the course of the season. “Given the significant number of excellent receivers this year, the Foundation will be active in the coming weeks in identifying additional receivers to be placed on the Biletnikoff Award watch list,” noted Foundation Chairman Walter W. Manley, II.”
