WMU Student-Athletes Have Success in the Classroom During Fall Semester

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan teams averaged a 3.19 GPA, the highest combined GPA on record, with nine teams posting 3.25 or better during the fall semester.

The top five teams in terms of GPA this past semester boasted GPAs over 3.50 with gymnastics leading the way at 3.76.  The men's tennis team led all men's programs at 3.53.

Top 5 WMU Team GPAs

  1. Gymnastics (3.76)
  2. Women's Soccer (3.66)
  3. Cross Country (3.59)
  4. Women's Golf (3.56)
  5. Men's Tennis (3.53)

An impressive 84.2 percent of all student-athletes had a 3.00 GPA or better during the past semester with 144 of them earning a GPA of 3.50 or higher, 38 earning a perfect 4.00 semester GPA.
