Broncos Hit the Road for Purdue Fall Invitational
Last season, the Broncos saw two newcomers to the program find success, with Nadin Indre winning the Flight A Singles back draw and Aaron Wong reach the finals of the Flight B Singles back draw. According to head coach Dave Morin, this year's newcomers have the chance to be successful as well.
"I think it's going to be another quality event for us," said Morin. "The Vredevelt Invite last week was challenging, and I think our new guys got a taste of some high caliber competition. We spent the week focusing on getting the guys ready to bump up their competitiveness and intensity for what should be another good field of opponents."
One of the newcomers that has impressed Morin to this point is freshman Andrew Cahn, who went 3-1 in singles play at the Vredevelt Invite and had a generally strong start to his career. Morin says that the promise shown from the entire freshman class means a different player could step up every week.
"Andrew had a great weekend for us, but every weekend it could be a different guy," said Morin. "Each of our freshmen picked up a couple wins last weekend, so there's the potential for each of them to stand out like that every week."
