Women's Soccer Heads to Valpo, Hosts Loyola Chicago

KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team looks to extend its four-game winning streak as they head to Valparaiso on Friday at 8:30 p.m. before hosting Loyola Chicago on Sunday at 3 p.m.

After dropping their season-opener at No. 19 Illinois, WMU has responded with four straight wins over College Of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Murray State and Illinois State.

During their streak the Broncos have outscored opponents 10-4, with sophomore Rachel Chaney netting four of the 10 goals.

Valparaiso started out the season 2-0-1, all at home, before falling at DePaul and at Iowa last weekend. Valpo has netted four goals in their five games on the season with Luisa DeSario leading the team with two. The Crusader defense has given up just one goal a game for five on the season. Junior Kirsten Manski has seen every minute between the sticks for Valparaiso.

Loyola Chicago has struggled in recent weeks, going 0-4 after winning its first game of the season over DePaul. The Ramblers have played a tough non-conference schedule at Iowa, Wisconsin, Toledo and Northern Illinois. Loyola Chicago has scored just one goal on the season and have given up 14.
