Women's Soccer Off The Field Success Continues
The 2011 season was one of great on the field and off the field accomplishments. The team made it to the Mid-American Conference Tournament Finals for the second straight season and earned its first ever First Team Academic All-American in Anina Cicerone.
The team boasts 25 student-athletes with cumulative GPA's of at least 3.0, while 18 of them have a 3.5 or higher. Junior Kelsey Baskins holds the team's top GPA at 3.98 in accountancy and was named Third Team Academic All-District as well as academic All-MAC. Cicerone (3.93, biomedical sciences), Alyson Brady (3.75, biomedical sciences), Lauren Fearday (3.87, accountancy), Jennifer Petree (3.80, psychology), Megan Putnam (3.90, biomedical sciences), Maddie Reed (3.93, athletic training), Hope Spangler (3.86, special education) and Michelle Watson (3.83, interdisciplinary health services) all hold GPA's of 3.75 or higher.
The Broncos were recognized with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic award for carrying cumulative team GPA of 3.49 for the second straight season.
