Oliver Mayer Named MAC Player of the Week by College Sports Madness

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan junior forward Oliver Mayer was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness. Mayer registered five points in the season-opener against Marygrove last week, scoring two goals and assisting a third.

The Broncos are off to a 2-0 start in 2012, defeating Marygrove, 4-0, Aug. 24, then stunning No. 25 Bradley on the road Aug. 26, 2-1, in overtime.

Four Broncos, Shane Lyons, Jason Grant, Darren Jones and Yllson Asani were named to the College Sports Madness Preseaon All-MAC Second Team. (Complete list here).
