Track & Field Heads to SeaRay Relays

KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan track and field takes its annual trip down south to the SeaRay Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee beginning on Thursday afternoon.

Thowers Chelsea Gerbers, Andrea Hiler and Stephanie Negrete will be competing on late Thursday afternoon as the lone event is the hammer throw. The action picks up significantly on Friday with nine running events and three more field events.

The relays and showcase races dominate Saturday's competition. The Broncos will compete in the 4x100, 4x800, 4x1,500 and 4x400-meter relays. Artia Gunn, Andrea Arnold, Iris Campbell and Lindsey Hufnagel will compete in the 4x100, Aisha Hodge, Rachel Whitley, Cara Cremeans and Jeriesha Tucker will compete in the 4x800, Hufnagel, Campbell, Ariel Arnold and Kathryn Pickett will man the 4x400 squad and the 4x1,500 team is yet to be determined.

Destinee Lukianoff, Jordan Anderson, Emily McAnsh and Alex Forsythe will also compete in the showcase distance medley relay. The Broncos will also compete in the long jump and shot put on Saturday.
