Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Medical Services is to set a standard in the providing comprehensive, quality healthcare to our student-athletes. Our staff will provide a professional environment for all involved. We will serve as advocate for the student-athletes health and well-being and we will be proactive in treating and managing the student-athletes healthcare.

We use an integrated team approach of certified athletic trainers, sports medicine trained physicians, student athletic trainers, and other qualified health professionals to effectively manage and treat various medical, physical and mental conditions. In compliance with the WMU Division of Intercollegiate Athletics mission, the medical services department will strive to produce NCAA Division I programs for men and women characterized by excellence in athletics and academics while being recognized as a leader among ethical, non-discriminatory, and fiscally well-managed departments.
