EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team saw a five-match win streak snapped on the road on Friday, as the Broncos fell to the Michigan State Spartans 6-1 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. With the loss, the Broncos fall to 8-3 on the season.

Freshman Tracy Kuhle went 2-0 on the day for the Broncos, teaming with senior Nini Sujashvili to take the No. 3 doubles match and winning her No. 4 singles match against Emily Meyers. Kuhle and Sujashvili broke the serve of Anna Zelechonok and Athena Trouillot and got the advantage over them, cruising past them for an 8-5 victory.

Kuhle continued her strong day with a fine showing against Meyers in the No. 4 singles match, again taking the momentum of the match in the first set with a 6-3 win. The second set proceeded to be much tighter, but Kuhle held off Meyers for a 7-5 set win and the match victory.

Both the singles and doubles matches were close throughout, but the Broncos were unable to push past the Spartans. All told, only one set went against the Broncos by a score worse than 6-3 as WMU held tight with MSU.

WMU will be back in action tomorrow evening when they face 16th-ranked Michigan at 6 p.m. in Ann Arbor.
