Indre Advances to Quarters at ITA Regionals
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nadin Indre defeated a pair of singles opponents to advance to the round of eight in the Intercollegiate Men's Tennis Association Midwest regional, and the Western Michigan men's tennis team continued action at the tournament hosted by Ohio State. The Broncos will be back in action tomorrow on Sunday, October 20.
Indre picked up a pair of singles wins at the tournament, defeating a pair of players to improve to the quarterfinals in the ITA singles main draw. Indre first defeated Michigan State's Harry Jadun, downing his in-state opponent 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the third round of singles play. From there, Indre confronted 125th-ranked Drew Lied from Michigan State, downing the Spartan 7-5, 6-0 to advance to the quarterfinals. He will face Notre Dame's Greg Andrews in the round of eight on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Indre and doubles teammate Andrew Cahn fell in their lone match on Saturday, losing to Notre Dame's Hagar and Monaghan 8-1, while teammates Ruben Greiner and Michael Treis to lost Wisconsin's Satral and Kokorev by an 8-1 score.
