KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Tracy Kuhle earned the honor of being named tournament champion, and the Western Michigan women's tennis team continued its surge at the 2013 Bronco Invitational on Saturday, authoring a near-perfect effort in singles and a 4-0 day in doubles to close out the weekend at Sorensen Courts.

Caroline Aleck, Barbare Eristavi, Kelsey King, and Kuhle all completed perfect weekends for the Broncos with wins on Saturday, with Aleck, Eristavi, and Kuhle holding the distinction of unblemished 6-0 records (three singles wins, three doubles wins). Kuhle was named the tournament champion by virtue of the games lost tiebreaker; she dropped just three games in singles to break the tie she held with Eristavi, Aleck, and Notre Dame's Katherine White. In addition, King went 2-0 on Saturday to finish the tournament with a 4-0 weekend, winning all three of her singles matches and her sole doubles match on Saturday.

The day began with a round of doubles in the morning, and both Bronco pairings in the early session collected victories to start the day. The doubles pairing of Aleck and Yuriko Ono defeated Oakland's Karine Celis and Elizabeth Guy in a tight 8-6 decision. One court over, the pairing of Kuhle and Eristavi was cruising past its opposition, defeating IUPUI's Rachael Bridegroom and Jaclyn Hyman 8-1 as the first match off the court.

The transition was made to singles play, which again saw Kuhle earning a dominant victory against the Jaguars. Kuhle dropped just a single game to Hyman in their singles match, downing her 6-1, 6-0 to close out a perfect singles weekend. King defeated Hyman's doubles partner Bridegroom 6-2, 6-0 to complete a perfect 3-0 weekend in singles, and Aleck downed the Jaguars' Bobbi Modesto 6-1, 6-1 to round out a trio of wins against IUPUI. Eristavi completed the singles success for the Broncos against IPFW's Sofia Sorokina, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win.

Not content with what they'd already achieved, the Broncos closed out the day with a pair of doubles wins in the afternoon session. Aleck and King downed the Golden Grizzlies' Maxime Colen and Tamara Blum 8-4 as the first doubles match on and off the court, while Kuhle and Eristavi defeated a doubles team comprised of Detroit's Elena Strakhova and Notre Dame's Alaina Roberts by an 8-6 score.
