MUNCIE, Ind. - The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced the 2013 women’s tennis awards today prior to the start of the 2013 MAC Women’s Tennis Championships on the campus of Ball State University, with Western Michigan junior Nini Sujashvili earning Second Team All-MAC honors. It is the second time in Sujashvili's career that she has been named All-MAC; the junior was a First Team selection in 2011.

"We're very excited to see Nini given this honor by the conference coaches," said WMU head coach Betsy Kuhle. "She's had a great season so far, and hopefully she will be able to keep it going with more success this weekend."

Sujashvili owns a 12-12 record at No. 1 singles for the Broncos in 2013, playing every match at the position this season. Among the junior's more impressive wins is the one she recorded on March 2 against Purdue; Sujashvili defeated the Boilermakers' Lynda Xepoleas 6-4, 6-4, at a time when Purdue was ranked as the #14 team in the nation.

Sujashvili has been even better in doubles play, with her pairing with senior Maggie Remynse paying immediate dividends for the Broncos. Sujashvili owns a 15-9 record in dual match doubles, including a 7-1 record in conference play while teaming solely with Remynse. The pair is 10-5 overall in dual match doubles, all at the No. 2 position, and the duo has won seven of their last 10 matches together.
