Western Michigan Broncos (11-12, 4-3 MAC) vs. Bowling Green State Falcons (15-4, 4-3 MAC)
Saturday, April 20 // 1 p.m.
Kalamazoo, Mich. // West Hills Athletic Club
This will be the 39th meeting between Western Michigan and Bowling Green, with the Broncos owning a perfect 38-0 advantage in the all-time series with the Falcons. In the teams' last meeting, the Broncos edged the Falcons 4-3 at Keefe Courts in Bowling Green, winning 4-3 by taking four of six singles matches. Maggie Remynse, Jill Pastunink and Caroline Aleck all earned singles wins in that match.
KING CARRIES ON
Freshman Kelsey King has enjoyed a great freshman season to start her college career, and so boasts the best singles record on the Broncos at 18-16. Most impressive is the way she's played against conference opponents; King has a 5-2 record against Mid-American Conference foes, tied for best on the team with Kathleen Hawkins.
The doubles pairing of Maggie Remynse and Nini Sujashvili has been a rock in the line-up for the Broncos since the beginning of MAC play; the pair has a 6-1 record against their MAC competition, and a team-best 9-5 record since the start of dual match play.
A win against Bowling Green would ensure that the Broncos would finish the season no worse than third place in the final conference standings, continuing one of the most impressive streaks in the conference. The Broncos have finished in third place or better in each of the last 30 seasons in program history.
