KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Mid-American Conference announced it's weekly tennis award winners, and for the second straight week, Western Michigan's Aaron Wong received the MAC Player of the Week honors.  The awards are the first two Player of the Week awards in Wong's career, and the most recent honor represents the seventh for a member of the Bronco men's tennis team this season.

Wong extended his season-long win streaks in a MAC doubleheader on Friday, going 4-0 overall (2-0 in singles play, 2-0 in doubles play) in road matches against Northern Illinois and Chicago State. Against the Huskies, Wong teamed with Jim Beckwith to beat Max Phillips and Jovan Zeljkovic in No. 3 doubles, clinching the doubles point with a 9-8 (6) win. Wong went on to beat Phillips again in the No. 3 singles match, winning 6-3, 6-4 as part of the Broncos' 5-2 win.

Wong turned the trick again later that night against the Cougars, teaming with Beckwith to beat Rashley Yeremia and Luis Ulloa 8-1 in the No. 3 doubles match. He later beat Julian Chavez 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles match, helping the Broncos to a 7-0 win.

Wong has now won six straight singles matches to improve to 21-14 overall in singles play, including a 14-8 record in dual matches. Wong has found in groove in doubles play since he started teaming with Jim Beckwith, possessing a 7-1 record teamed with the freshman.
