Women's Tennis Goes Down at #29 Rice Owls
The Owls took the doubles point by sweeping the session, with the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles teams coming the closest to stealing a win. Maggie Remynse and Nini Sujashvili held tight with Liat Zimmermann and Katie Gater, falling 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles match; Jill Pastunink and Kelsey King fell by an identical score in the No. 3 doubles match to Solomiya Zinko and Daniela Trigo.
Rice took a 3-0 lead in the match when #59 Natalie Beazant earned a win at the No. 1 singles match, defeating Nini Sujashvili 6-1, 6-1. The match was clinched after the Owls took the No. 2 singles match, when #105 Dominique Harmath downed Maggie Remynse 6-1, 6-3. Rice swept through the remaining matches on the slate to earn the shutout win.
