Broncos Fall at #18 Notre Dame
The Broncos' best effort in the doubles session came in the No. 2 doubles match, where the pairing of Jill Pastunink and Maggie Remynse pushed the 38th-ranked team of Britney Sanders and Julie Sabacinski in a back-and-forth match. Remynse and Pastunink were able to keep pace with their nationally-ranked opponents, but ultimately fell 8-6 in the match.
The Irish took a 3-0 lead in the match in the singles session when Jennifer Kellner defeated Maggie Remynse 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles match. The team match was clinched in the No. 3 singles match, where Quinn Gleason defeated Jill Pastunink 6-0, 6-2.
The Irish rounded out the scoring with victories in the remaining singles matches, though Nini Sujashvili nearly pushed 42nd-ranked Britney Sanders to a third set. Sujashvhili rebounded from a first set loss to post a tight second set against Sanders, but ultimately fell 6-1, 7-5 in the last match off the court.
The Broncos will be back in action on Saturday, when they host #14 Purdue and Oakland at West Hills Athletic Club. The day will begin at 1 p.m. against the Boilermakers, and will continue at 6 p.m. in a match against the Golden Grizzlies.
