Final Two Pieces of WMU Football Staff in Place
Larmony worked with WMU head coach P.J. Fleck during his time at Rutgers where she serves as a recruiting assistant for the Scarlet Knights football program from 2010-12.
"Jessica is one of the hardest workers that I know. She has an extensive background in marketing, business and recruiting and in in every area she is excellent. I told her at Rutgers that if I was ever a head coach she was coming with me and we are really excited to have Jessica here in our family," said Fleck.
Larmony earned a degree in communications from Rutgers in 2009, serving as the Class President as a senior, remained at her alma mater after graduation. She rose from a public relations intern in the athletic communications office to a student recruiting assistant, holding that post from 2006 through 2010. During her time in Piscataway, Larmony also served as the interim director of football branding and events, overseeing social media, web and video strategies.
Nichol comes to WMU after spending the past five seasons as the head speed, strength & conditioning coach at the University of Maine. Prior to that stint, Nichol also served as the head strength coach at Dartmouth (2006-07) and Tennessee-Martin (2005).
"When I think of Dan Nichol I just want to get into the weight room. He is very intense, loves the weight room and loves to see the transformation of the players both physically and athletically. What I love about Dan is he never was provided the finished product, he had to develop it and that's what we need to do at Western Michigan," commented Fleck.
"He is a disciple of, and came strongly recommended by, Chris Doyle the strength coach at Iowa. His youth, experience and passion are things we can look forward to helping our young men become bigger, stronger and faster. We happily welcome Dan and his wife Suzanne to the Bronco family."
Nichol earned an undergraduate degree in applied exercise science from Springfield College and a masters in strength and conditioning from the same institution. He cut his teeth in the strength & conditioning arena under Chris Doyle at Iowa while an intern in 2002.
