Aleck's Win Highlights Final Day at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. - Sophomore Caroline Aleck notched a singles victory in her lone outing on Sunday, and the Western Michigan women's tennis team finished up its final day at the Northwestern Wildcat Invitational.

Aleck wrapped up what ended up being a 2-2 weekend in singles play with a win on Sunday, defeating Northern Iowa's Chelsea Moore. Aleck was in control of the match from the outset, taking two relatively quick sets in defeating Moore 6-3, 6-2.

Elsewhere on the court, Nini Sujashvili fought hard in the second set but could not overcome Iowa's Ellen Silver; Kelsey King faced a tough match-up against Minnesota's Aria Lambert and fell 6-2, 6-0; and Jill Pastunink fell in her final match of the weekend against DePaul's Ana Vladutu.

The Broncos will be back in action this weekend when they participate in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Second Chance tournament, hosted by Northern Illinois.
