Broncos Wrap Up the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO -- Junior Aisha Hodge once again paced the Western Michigan cross country team as the Broncos competed at the 40th annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola on Saturday afternoon.

The Bangor, Mich., native took 52nd overall with a 5k time of 18:33. Hodge has finished as WMU's top runner in all four meets this season, while sophomore Becca Peacock has usually been just behind her as she was on the afternoon. Peacock just missed breaking the 19 minute barrier, finishing with a time of 19:01.

Senior Jeriesha Tucker was not to far behind Peacock, finishing with a time of 19:11 as WMU's third finisher on the day. Fellow senior Rachel Whitley finished at 19:13, while Ashley Moyer finished at 19:14 along with Teresa Marin to round out WMU's top six.

The Broncos finished in 15th overall in a field of 51 teams.

Western Michigan battles for supremacy in the state of Michigan in Grand Rapids next Friday at the Michigan Intercollegiates.
