ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Caroline Aleck closed the weekend on a positive note with a victory against an opponent from a 2011 national semifinalist, and the Western Michigan women's tennis team completed play on the final day of the Wolverine Invitational.

Aleck capped what was a challenging day for the Broncos by recording a win against her opponent from Georgia, defeating Kelli Jordan 6-0, 6-0 in the singles session on Sunday.  The win evened Aleck's season singles record at 3-3, and provided the sophomore the opportunity to close the tournament on a high note.

The Broncos were highly competitive in several other matches on Sunday, but they found difficulty in recording another upset win on the day.  Kathleen Hawkins came the closest, as the junior pushed Iowa's Annette Dohanics to a tiebreaker in the first set before falling 7-6, 6-3 in their singles match.  Kelsey King went toe-to-toe with the Hawkeyes' Ellen Silver in their match, but Silver overcame King by a score of 7-5, 6-2.
