• Western Michigan is 0-3 all-time against Minnesota
• WMU will be playing its first ever game at TCF Bank Stadium
• WMU’s game at Minnesota marks its second game with a start time before 12 p.m. (local time) through the first three games of the 2012 season
• WMU head football coach was two seasons removed from his last as a wide receiver at Delaware (1975) the last time Western Michigan and Minnesota played each other (1977)
• WMU will appear on the Big Ten Network for the first time this season, appearing for the second time in as may seasons (Illinois in 2011)
• Alex Carder is looking for his fourth 300-yard passing game against a team from an automatic qualifying BCS conference and third against a team from the Big Ten
• Donald Celiscar had the second most PBUs in a game (5) against Eastern Illinois
• Andrew Haldeman earned MAC West Player of the Week for his nine-PAT effort and 37-yard field goal against EIU
• Alex Carder threw five TDs in a game for the fifth time in his career against EIU
• Alex Carder threw for over 300 yards in a game for the 12th time in his career against EIU
• Jaime Wilson became only the third freshman to record 100 yards receiving in a game and the first since Steve Neal did so on Nov. 15, 1997 (124), two weeks after fellow frosh Corey Alston set the then single-game record with 263
• WMU defense has held opposing offenses to a three-and-out 12 times so far this season
• Daniel Braverman scored a touchdown on his first collegiate touch, scoring on an end-around from nine yards out for Western Michigan’s first score against Eastern Illinois
• WMU outscored EIU 28-0 in the decisive second quarter
• WMU out-gained Eastern Illinois 200-83 in the second quarter, allowing just two first downs and holding EIU to 0-for-5 on third down attempts and 0-for-2 on fourth down
• Blake Hammond had two TDs in a game for the first time in his career and Lewis Toler had two INTs for the first time in his career

HERE’S SOMETHING YOU DID NOT KNOW
Western Michigan did not record a punt last week against Eastern Illinois.  It was the first time WMU had not punted in a game since Nov. 21, 1981 in a 38-7 season-ending victory at home over Eastern Michigan — a span of 334 games.
