KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team travels to East Lansing, Mich., to battle Michigan State for a mid-week soccer match on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Broncos (4-2-0) are looking to rebound from a tough weekend that saw them go 0-2-0 with losses at Valparaiso and at home to Loyola. Michigan State (5-1-1) is currently on a three-game unbeaten streak after dispatching Eastern Michigan 2-0 on Sunday.

The Spartans bring a very balanced offensive attack as well as a stout defense that has only allowed four goals in seven games. Nine different players have scored goals for Michigan State with Olivia Stander, Megan Marsack, Annie Steinlage and Chelsea Peterson are all tied for the team lead two goals this season. Stander also have five assists for nine points to lead the Spartans.

Sophomore Courtney Clem has played every minute between the sticks this season for the Spartans. Clem has made 23 saves and has a goals against average of 0.55.

This is the final non-conference test for Western Michigan before they begin Mid-American Conference play next weekend when they host Toledo at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21.
