KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan volunteer assistant coach Sprios Anastas has been named general manager of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League.

Anastas joined the Broncos last season from Lebanon Valley College, where he was an assistant coach. Anastas' duties at WMU included video break down and analysis of team systems and opponent scouting reports, assisting in player development, practice and game planning, organizing team travel and alumni events.

"Spiros did a tremendous job here at Western Michigan for us," said head coach Andy Murray. "He was a valuable part of this coaching staff but we are excited for the opportunity he as at Alberni Valley and we wish him all the best."

With Anastas' help the Broncos were able to capture the program's second Central Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament Championship as well as a second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
