CLEVELAND, Ohio - One day after the Mid-American Conference announced the Western Michigan volleyball team as the predicted favorite to win the conference regular season and tournament titles, the league honored a pair of Broncos individually when Jessica Brown and Terin Norris were named Preseason All-MAC selections.

Both Brown and Norris enter 2012 as reigning First Team All-MAC selections, and are the only pair of teammates named to the six-player Preseason All-MAC West roster. Last season, the Broncos were one of three schools in the conference to secure an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, and this year were voted by the coaches as the preseason conference favorites.

Brown received her second straight First Team All-MAC selection in 2011, posting a team-high kills total with 353 successful attacks and hitting .283. Brown also became the 19th player in program history to crack the 1,000-Kills barrier, and could finish as high as second on the all-time list when all is said and done. The lone senior on the roster, Brown will serve as a veteran influence at the middle blocker position and continue to be one of the most dangerous offensive threats in the MAC.

Norris returns as a redshirt sophomore for the Broncos, and the reigning MAC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-MAC selection looks to build on a rookie season that saw her become one of the top setters in the league. Norris totaled 1,404 assists in 2011, which ranks third on the Broncos' single-season record list, and also brings the element of attack; Norris racked up 135 kills in 2011, the most for a Bronco since 2006. Norris displayed a defensive knack as well, recording 18 Digs - Assists double-doubles in 2011 to set a new single-season program record. Norris became just the third individual in program history to record a triple-double, doing so against Ball State.

The Broncos open their 2012 season this weekend when they compete at the Oklahoma Nike Invitational.
