Men's Basketball Embarks on European Journey

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's basketball team will soon embark on a unique journey, as the Broncos will depart University Arena for some international culture as they begin their 2012 European trip. For 10 days, the Broncos will acclimate themselves to unfamiliar cities and customs, while at the same time bonding as a team and playing against opponents from Italy, France, and Monaco.

The Broncos will play four games over the course of their trip, which will take them to the Italian cities of Rome and Florence, the French city of Nice, and trips to nearby Vatican City and Monaco. When not competing, the team will be on their own most of the time, experiencing the language and culture while exploring these historic cities.

Despite being thousands of miles away, fans of the Broncos will be able to keep up with the progress of the team. Box scores and brief recaps from each game will be available on WMUBroncos.com, letting fans get their first glimpses at the Broncos' eight newcomers as well as returning veterans.

For those more interested in simply following the travels of the Broncos, daily blogs will be posted to WMUBroncos.com, featuring a Q&A session with a different player every day. The entries will cover the day's travels and experiences, as well as trip highlights and photos.
