WMU Football Camp/Media Day Starts Next Week
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - When the calendar switches to August, the 2012 WMU football season will be 32 days away but the preparation for Sept. 1 begins Aug. 6.
Preseason fall camp begins this Sunday with newcomers and veterans checking into Zimmerman Hall and the season's first practice is scheduled for Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. All practices will take place on the Bronco Practice Fields (Davis Street), at Waldo Stadium or in the Seelye Athletic Center depending on weather.
WMU will hold its annual media/photo day on Friday, Aug. 10 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The press conference with head coach Bill Cubit and selected student-athletes will be held in the Next Level lobby of the Bill Brown Alumni Football Center. Lunch will be provided prior to the start of the press conference and media are invited to arrive at 10:30 a.m. to check in.
All season credentials will be handed out at that time so if you are a media member that is requesting a credential for the season, please contact Mat Kanan at mat.kanan@wmich.edu with your name, affiliation and credential type (photo/TV, etc.).
Media are invited to move to the turf bay of the Seelye Athletic Center for one-on-one interviews with all members of the WMU football team and coaching staff. Members of the WMU media relations staff will be there to assist. TV stations are able to conduct on-camera interviews on the Waldo Stadium turf if weather permits.
