Women's Golf Announces Fall Schedule
The Broncos open their season on Sept. 15, when they make the relatively short trip to East Lansing to take part in Michigan State's Mary Fossum Invitational (9/15-16). It will be the first trip to the Mary Fossum Invitational since the 2009-10 season.
The second tournament of the year for WMU will take place against a familiar foe, when the Broncos travel to Muncie to take part in Ball State's Cardinal Classic (9/22-23). The last time the Broncos played in the fall iteration of the Cardinal Classic they won it, topping the field of 14 teams in 2010.
The Broncos will then travel to the Nittany Lion Invitational (9/28-30), a 54-hole tournament hosted by Penn State in University Park, Pa. The last time the Broncos competed there was just last season, when they took 7th of 18 teams despite poor playing conditions cutting the event to just 36 holes.
WMU closes out its fall schedule with The Preview (10/15-16), hosted this year by Ohio and held at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio. The Broncos won The Preview the last time it was played at Longaberger, clearing the field by an eight-stroke margin en route to the victory during the 2010-11 season.
