Broncos Rally from 2-0 Hole to Down Falcons
Maggie Remynse was the hero for the Broncos, clinching the team win with a victory in the last match on the court. Remynse battled Maddy Eccleston to a pair of tight sets, defeating Eccleston 6-4, 6-4 to give the Broncos the team victory and a tiebreaker over the Falcons in the conference standings.
The Broncos trailed early in the match after dropping the doubles point and the first match of singles play, but they were not to be denied. Jill Pastunink completed a relatively easy win over Mary Hill in the No. 4 singles match, defeating Hill 6-1, 6-2 to cut into the Falcons' lead. April Kerr, making her first singles appearance in conference play in 2012, tied the overall match with an exciting win over Jessica Easdale in the No. 6 match. Kerr held on for a 7-6 (5) tiebreaker in the first set before cruising to a second-set win over Easdale.
The Broncos took the match lead at 3-2 when Caroline Aleck downed Katie Grubb in the No. 5 singles match, winning the tight contest 6-4, 6-4. The match was tied up after Kathleen Hawkins saw her singles win streak snapped against Emily Reuland.
