Broncos Wrap Heptathlon at Sea Ray Relays
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Western Michigan women's track and field team wrapped up its competition in the Heptathlon at the Sea Ray Relays on Thursday, with Lindsey Hufnagel recording a pair of top-three finishes to finish as the Broncos' high scorer in the event.
Hufnagel took second place in the 800m with a time of 2:22.23, finishing just 0.34 behind Elizabeth Kline (Pittsburgh) for the top spot and taking 793 total points. That also marked Hufnagel's second-highest single-event point total in the Hepathlon this week. Hufnagel's performance came on the heels of a third-place finish in the Javelin, also the highest finish for the Broncos in that particular event.
Just behind Hufnagel in the 800m was Pickett, who finished the race fractions of a second behind Hufnagel with a time of 2:22.38. Fenton finished in the top half of the pack with a sixth-place finish in the event, her best finish of the day.
The rest of the Sea Ray Relays will begin on Friday, April 13 at 12:35 with the women's 3000m.
