McMillin Named MAC West Baseball Player of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan senior third baseman Ryan McMillin was named Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week spanning Feb. 28 through March 6.

McMillin led Western Michigan to a 3-1 record at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla., and post two wins over Big Ten opponents. WMU defeated Northwestern (4-1), Ohio State (15-8), as well as Villanova (6-5).

The LaGrange, Ill., native batted .400, going 6-for-15 at the plate. All but one of his six hits were for extra bases, belting four doubles and a home run, for a .867 slugging percentage.

In the Broncos' 15-8 win over Ohio State, McMillin went 2-for-4, hitting a three-run homer and a double, while also scoring three runs.

McMillin doubled twice in the win over Northwestern, and gave the Broncos a 5-3 lead in the seventh with a two-run two bagger. He recorded a hit in all four games at the Snowbird Classic.
