Chris Wendling joined the Western Michigan athletic training staff during the summer of 2010.  He provides support for women's soccer, baseball and golf.  Prior to joining the Bronco staff Wendling was the head athletic trainer at Ferrum College dating back to June of 2008.  He also served as an adjunct professor and a collegiate advisor.

Wendling was primarily responsible for football, men's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis and women's lacrosse.  He was promoted from assistant athletic trainer after serving in that capacity for a year. 

Wendling is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Virginia and is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification and First Aid and Professional Rescuer CPR & AED.  He earned his bachelor of science in physical education from Grand Valley State in 2005 and his masters in public health from North Florida in 2007.
