The Western Michigan Division of Intercollegiate Athletics has enjoyed a great amount of both team and individual success throughout its history and the past five years have been a prime example. The Broncos have enjoyed several Mid-American Conference Championships in recent campaigns, which have led to individual accolades on a consistent and impressive basis. Most recently, the Bronco women's tennis team completed the 2004-05 regular season with an undefeated record to claim the MAC title.

- Women's Tennis wins 2007 MAC Tournament and move on to the NCAA Tournament.
- Men's Tennis wins 2007 MAC Tournament and move on to the NCAA Tournament.
- Football plays in first bowl game in 18 years at the International Bowl January 6, 2007.
- The Bronco Women's Athletic Program won the Jacoby Trophy for the 2005-2006 season.
- Football Players Greg Jennings was drafted by the Green Bay Packers and Tony Scheffler was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 2006 National Football League Draft.
- The women's track and field 4 x 400 meter relay team advanced to the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
- Baseball player Adam Rosales is drafted in the 12th round of the 2005 Major League Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
- Women's Tennis coach Betsy Kuhle is named the 2005 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year.
- Men's basketball enjoyed a 25 home-game win streak, ending on January 22, 2005 in a heartbreaking loss to conference rival Ball State.
- Men's basketball captured the 2005 Mid-American Conference West Divisional Championship for the second straight season.
- Men's basketball hosted a second round sellout game of the 2005 National Invitation Tournament after defeating basketball power Marquette on national televsion (ESPN). In addition they recorded their third straight 20 win season.
- Men's basketball wins the 2004 Mid-American Conference regular season and tournament championship and participates in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The team finished with a record setting 26-5 record.
- Football player Jason Babin was selected as the 27th pick by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2004 National Football League (NFL) Draft..
- Men's basketball player Mike Williams and women's basketball player Casey Rost are named the 2004 Mid-American Conference Players of the Year.
- Men's tennis won back-to-back MAC championships in 1999 and 2000 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2001. Most recently they captured the 2004 MAC Championship and participated in the NCAA Tournament.
- Men's tennis player Ravi Pathanjali was named the 2004 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year.
- Softball player Jaymie Voss is named COSIDA First Team Academic All-America in 2004.
- Women's basketball won the MAC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2003. The program advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2004 WNIT Tournament for the first time in program history.
- Men's and women's soccer captured the 2003 Mid-American Conference Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The women advanced to second round of the NCAA's after defeating nationally ranked Illinois.
- Head men's soccer coach Chris Karwoski, head men's tennis coach Dave Morin and head women's tennis coach Betsy Kuhle were all named Mid-American Conference Coaches of the Year during the 2003-04 athletic year.
- Softball won the MAC Tournament and advanced to NCAA Championship in 2003.
- The new 120,000 square foot Seelye Center becomes available for teams to hold workouts during the 2003 spring.
- Women’s basketball player, Kristen Koetsier is awarded as college basketball’s 2002 V-Foundation Comeback Player of the Year and the national Honda Inspirational player award presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
- Football captures back to back Mid-American Conference (MAC) Divisional Championships in 1999 and 2000.
- Volleyball won the MAC championship in 2000 and advanced to the NCAA tournament.
- Women's tennis made back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances in 1999 and 2000.
- Gymnastics team members competed in the NCAA regionals in 1999, 2000, 2003 and 2005.
