Pat Misch (LHP)
Fresno Grizzlies - Triple A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants (Pacific Coast League)

Misch is a young rising star in the Giants’ organization and is currently rated the club’s #11 prospect by the The Baseball America Prospect Handbook. After beginning the season with Triple A Fresno, Misch was recalled by San Francisco on July 3rd.

Appearing in 30 games with Fresno in 2007, Misch owns a record of 2-3 and an ERA of 2.06 over 56.2 innings with Fresno. He has one save and 61 strikeouts. Misch made his major-league debut last year as a September call-up and pitched one scoreless inning in his first big-league outing. He split time with the Double A Connecticut Defenders (5-4, 2.26 ERA, 18 G) and Fresno (4-2, 4.02 ERA, 11G) in 2006 and registered 136 strikeouts, good enough to tie Nick Pereira for the lead in the Giants minor league chain. In 2005, he saw action with Norwich (Double A) and Fresno. He spent much of the 2004 season with the Norwich Navigators, recording a 7-6 record and 3.00 ERA to go along with a 123:35 strikeout:walk ratio in 159 innings. He was fourth in the Eastern League in ERA and led in complete games (4) and shutouts (3).

Misch was drafted by the Houston Astros in the fifth round of the 2002 amateur draft but did not sign. A year later, the San Francisco Giants took him in the seventh round of the 2003 amateur draft. He went 7-5 with a 2.18 ERA for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (Northwest League Class A Short Season) that year, and was third in the Northwest League in ERA and led in innings pitched (87.2). Baseball America rated him the #20 prospect in the NWL. Misch holds the Western Michigan record for most strikeouts in a season (99) and most strikeouts in a game (19) and is second in career K’s with 265. He was a two-time Second Team All-Mid-American Conference honoree.

Adam Rosales (1B)
Chattanooga Lookouts - Double A Affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds (Southern League)
WMU 2002-2005

Rosales was recently promoted to the Double A Chattanooga Lookouts, making his first appearance June 21st, after an impressive start to the season with the Sarasota Reds (A) of the Florida State League. With Sarasota, Rosales was an all-star selection after leading the league in doubles (23) and placing in the top 10 in runs (47), extra base hits (33) and RBI (48), hitting .294 in the clean-up position. In his first eight games with Chattanooga, Rosales is batting .258 and has already belted a double and a triple. Rosales spent 2006 with the Dayton Dragons (A) and Sarasota and appeared in three spring training games with Cincinnati. In his first season in the minors (2005), Rosales hit .321 while playing for the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League and .328 while with Dayton. Rosales was a 12th round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2005 amateur draft. Rosales is the only Bronco in the last 10 years to earn All-Mid-American Conference First Team honors twice in a career. He ranks in the top five at WMU in career hits (213), runs (156), doubles (46), home runs (24) total bases (365) and stolen bases (47), while ranking in the top 10 in RBIs (119). He tied the school record for most hits in a game with six against Illinois his senior season.

Brian Sikorski (RHP)
Tokyo Yakult Swallows - Japan Central League
WMU 1993-1995

Sikorski is a currently a relief pitcher for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of the Japanese Central League. The Central League is one of Japan’s two major professional baseball leagues, and the more prominent of the two. Sikorski is in his sixth season of Japanese ball, after stints with the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and San Diego Padres organizations. He was called up to Major League Baseball with both the Rangers (2000) and Padres (2006), owning a career record of 4-5 in the big leagues. In the far east, Sirkorski currently holds the Japanese record for most appearances. He began the 2007 season with the Buffalo Bisons (Cleveland, Triple A), recording two saves in 13 appearances before his contract was sold to the Swallows on May 17. Sikorski was drafted in the fourth round of the 1995 amateur entry draft by the Houston Astros. He is one of only 15 individuals to ever throw a no-hitter at Western Michigan, accomplishing the feat in a 3-0 seven-inning win over Toledo in 1995. That same year, he was a First Team All-Mid-American Conference selection. Sikorski is tied for second in Bronco records books with 10 wins in a single season.

Derek Schlecker (RHP)
Orem Owls - Rookie Affiliate of the LA Angels (Pioneer League)
WMU 2004-2007

Recently selected in the 31st round of the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Angels, Schlecker has reported to the Orem Owls. He has worked 3.2 innings over three games, and notched his first career save against the Ogden Raptors on June 25. During his career at WMU, Schlecker recorded 12 saves, placing third on the team’s all-time list. In his final season in Kalamazoo, Schlecker saw action in 23 games (second most all-time in a season at WMU), and tallied four saves. He threw 21.1 innings, collecting two wins against four losses, with an ERA of 4.64.
