Baseball Completes A Three-Game Sweep At Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Freshman RHP Ethan Hollingsworth remained undefeated on the mound improving his record to 4-0 in the Broncos 14-3 victory at Morehead State on Sunday afternoon at Allen Field.

 

The Brown & Gold improved their overall record to 10-5 on the season.

 

Hollingsworth allowed seven hits and three runs in six innings of work.  Sophomore Dan Coberley and teammate senior Brian Kross held off MSU in the last three innings.

 

For the second day in a row the Broncos were hot at the plate with 17 total hits on the day.  Freshman Zach Gentile had a strong showing after going 4-for-5 at the plate with two home runs, four runs and three RBI.  Junior Kyle Maunus's three hits and four RBI helped Western Michigan pound Morehead State, 14-3.  Maunus also hit his second home run of the season.

 

The Broncos will play their home and Mid-American Conference opener on March 24 against Kent State.  First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m. at Hyames Field.
