Hockey Announces 2016-17 Conference Schedule

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan hockey team and head coach Andy Murray has released its National Collegiate Hockey Conference schedule the 2016-17 season on Wednesday afternoon.

Coming to Lawson Ice Arena for NCHC play will be Miami on Nov. 4-5, St. Cloud State on Dec. 2-3, Denver on Jan. 13-14, Colorado College on Jan. 20-21, defending National Champions North Dakota on Feb. 17-18 and Minnesota-Duluth to close out the regular season on March 3-4.

WMU is on the road to open NCHC play at Denver on Oct. 28-29 and again on the road at UMD on Nov. 11-12. The Broncos close out conference play for 2016 at North Dakota on Dec. 9-10. Western Michigan's three road series in the second half of the season are at the RedHawks on Jan. 27-28, at Omaha on Feb. 10-11 and at Colorado College on Feb. 24-25.

The NCHC Quarterfinals are scheduled for March 10-12, with the Frozen Faceoff marked for March 17 for the semifinals and the 18th for the championship game.

The Broncos will be releasing their non-conference schedule in the coming days, featuring six home games pushing the home total to 18 for the season.
