TOLEDO, Ohio – The Western Michigan men's tennis team opened up play at the Toledo Rocket Invite in day two with a 4-2 record in singles and 0-2 in doubles. The Broncos sent four individuals including Andrew Cahn, Matej Svjetlicic, Nick Schnobel and Stephen Payne to compete in the three-day event with 11 opposing teams.
In singles play, Svjetlicic went 2-0 to improve his season record to 7-1 and push his winning streak to five matches while Cahn also went 2-0 with wins over Kevin Goth of Cleveland State and Tim Cane of Duquesne to improve to 5-3 this season. Schnobel earned his first career victory for the Broncos with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Matt Bouggy of Purdue.
